A community of passionate players has always been the beating heart of Zed Run and when that passion has an opportunity to shine this game becomes something special.
We’ve seen it time and time again with community run events.
If the Zed team and community joined forces with a shared vision the sky would be the limit for this game, and it looks as though that collaborative chapter has just begun.
If you’ve been on Novus Earth for a while, you may remember the Digital Derby back in mid-2021.
My stable was only a few weeks old at the time and it was the first community run event I’d seen.
What a Zed Run spectacle it was!
Race previews, TV hosts and all the polish of an NBC or Fox Sports broadcast.
Live streamed with the whole community watching, it was a taste of what was possible for this game.
Since then community tournaments have continued to play a big part in my Zed experience.
Zombie’s seasons and special events and LJ’s Maiden enhancements are fond memories.
More recently Danshan’s wide variety of Sit N Go’s and custom race specials and the Accountant’s BLQC Party have helped to keep me entertained.
With over 6,000 horses entered in Danshan’s most recent custom tournament it’s clear a lot of people in the Zed community love a 3rd party event as much as I do.
That’s why I was really excited to hear that Zed Run have begun supporting these community events with promotional efforts and juiced prize pools.
Working hand in hand with the hosts to help them bring their ideas to life.
These events bring our community together, help it grow and keep things fresh and vibrant for us while also taking a bit of pressure off Zed as they continue to develop the platform.
With Zed backing our best creative minds and hard-working community members I’m looking forward to having plenty of exciting new racing options in the near future.
Rumour has it that Zedge are stepping up with a regular racing event, Zombie have something exciting in the works and who knows what Danshan will come up with when armed with a financial boost.
With our streamers and content creators showcasing the action and bringing the community together around each event I think we have the recipe for a whole lot of fun.
I can’t wait to see what’s about to unfold.
Who knows, perhaps we even see another spectacle like the Digital Derby later this year!
